About the Author
Chief Ifamoriyo Ojoawo Agboola was born in 1960 on Nigeria’s Independence Day. He comes from the Odoje compound in Ebu-Ikoko, located in the Isale Oyo area of Oyo State, Nigeria.
His education in Ifá, Ìṣẹ̀ṣe tradition, and formal academics began during childhood. At seven years old, he received his earliest Ifá instruction from the late Ojoawo Alamu Akala of the Sangan compound in Isale Oyo, Oyo Alaafin. He continued developing his knowledge under respected high priests and traditional scholars, traveling from village to village and town to town to study the teachings and practices of Ifá.
Alongside his traditional training, Chief Ifamoriyo pursued formal education and earned both a Bachelor of Arts in Education and a Ph.D. His lifelong dedication to Ifá and Ìṣẹ̀ṣe has earned him recognition and several respected chieftaincy titles within traditional communities.
His titles and leadership positions include Chief Priest and Oluawo of Ifá, Director of Traditional Religion, Atọ́ná-Awo, Ààrẹ Àgbàsàgà, Akógun-Awo, Akódá-Awo, Májẹ̀kóbájẹ́ Ẹ̀sìn Ìṣẹ̀ṣe, and Ọ̀jọ̀gbọ́n Àgbà Ìṣẹ̀ṣe. He is recognized as a prominent elder who supports the preservation, teaching, and advancement of traditional religion in Nigeria and throughout the world.
Chief Ifamoriyo is also the founder of Ìṣẹ̀ṣe Faithful Academy Group of Schools, a government-approved educational institution in Oyo State, Nigeria.
